Mt. Assiniboine: Nub Peak

The Nub is one of the best hikes for a clear day at Mount Assiniboine Provincial Park. There are 3 milestones along the trail- the Niblet, the Nublet, and the Nub -so you can choose how far and high you go. Each section has awesome views, but 360 degree panoramas of the entire park can only be found atop the Nub!

Mt. Assiniboine – Bryant Creek Trail

The Bryant Creek Trail is a popular hiking route to Mount Assiniboine Provincial Park. Starting near the end of the Spray Lakes, the trail follows Bryant Creek up through the forest, into meadows and eventually up over Assiniboine or Wonder Pass. This is a long route and there are plenty of campgrounds along the way to break up your travel – just be sure to book a backcountry pass with Banff National Park.

Gimli Ridge

Mt. Gimli is a striking pillar of rock, towering high in the Valhalla range. This hike is tough, but rewarding. The trail leads up to the base of Gimli where it wraps around to a final ledge. Here, hikers can look down into the Mulvey Basin lakes, or just spin and spin and take in the panoramas of jagged peaks and sky.
